Ziggy’s Online Store Update

While there hasn’t been a lot of obvious changes to the Ziggy’s Warehouse Online Store recently. Most of our effort has been at the back end.
That’s the bit where your shipping and handling charges are calculated, or where you can pay for your purchases with your credit card in a secure and encrypted way.
I’ve decided to wait until that backend functionality is ready before we fully populate the store with our products. And do we have some cool and exciting products for you.
How about
- 4WD rally car kits
- preschool educational toys
- Incredible new exercise equipment
- Photo albums and memory books
So by the end of September we’ll have the back end ready and you’ll be able to see for yourself.

Cool warp speak
September 8, 2004 on 11:37 pm | In Cool products | No CommentsWe got some Warp Speak electonic voice changers in for a promotion a while ago. These are a neat bull-horn shaped toy that changes your voice into a spaceman, robot or alien. They were a hit in the office and with the customers. Hundreds flew out the door and we’ve been trying to get more ever since.
Finally we we found another box - 11 in their packaging and one on it’s own.
A science teacher bought one, and now we need more warp speakers. It turns out that science is more fun with a cool toy. We’re working with our suppliers to find another batch. Hopefully they’ll be in stock for Christmas.
Brand identity

We started as
Ziggy’s Warehouse : the gizmo, gift & gadget superstore
Great positioning for category leadership, but what about the toys or exercise equipment? Those are significant parts of the business. And I can’t see how we’ll stretch luggage into those 3 g’s. What happens if we start selling suppliments?
Ziggy’s also runs warehouse sales and retail clearances, so it’s got a closeout business. Closeouts is a strange business to stay in. Sometimes we have lots of inventory at great prices, other times we’re stuck without a thing to sell.
Like many businesses, Ziggy’s has an identity crisis. Large companies often say that’s not our business, but the small guys try to be all things to all customers. That often becomes a reason to sell whatever we think will sell. As a result they often chop and change their focus and strategy. I am so guilty of that in the past.
The staff say we sell anything that’s not nailed down.
Ziggy’s Warehouse sells consumer products through a variety of online and offline channels. Wow! Sound like soulless business school speak.

abswing? Half price ab swing

A few months ago, Annette in our office had just received her abswing - she’d ordered it on TV. Then I wandered into the office with the ab swing verification sample. Boy was she upset. “I just paid $149.95 for my ab swing,” she cried. “And it’s identical at half price.”
Why didn’t she check with us first? I told her we are always looking at new and cool products. She knew it because she helps me find them.
Why didn’t Annette ask me to source her an abswing? She says she didn’t think of it. If you see any new of cool products just comment below or send an email to newproduct@ziggyswarehouse.com.au and we’ll hunt it down.
Anyway I’ve met so many customers who rave about their abswing. I’ll put a selection of up in the review section of the store.
